“About” updates

Not much to say here… Just got around to updating the “about” section a bit more.

Now I have to find a fake self-portrait to add to it… ;P

On a side note, if there is a particular topic you would like to see more of, feel free to let me know…

Best CCNP Lab? Part II

The corner-stone –in my opinion that is– of the CCNP track is the BSCI course. It’s probably the most important and difficult material you will experience in the CCNP track. This is probably a lot of the reason for why it really hasn’t changed much at all over the years. So regarding the new CCNP changes, it’s pretty much the same as it has always been.

New Job @ Cisco!

I started the first week of my new job at Cisco Systems today. I figured I would wait until I actually started before I talked too much about it.

I accepted a position with the Cisco ROS (Remote Operations Services) group stationed locally in the Austin area. I’m in the Unified Communications group dealing with everything IP-Telephony related. We basically work in a NOC environment monitoring customers who pay for our service. Needless to say it’s a great opportunity for me since I’m relatively new to the whole voice arena. The possibility of working for Cisco has always been a huge aspiration of mine.

It’s really a dream come true and I’m totally psyched about it!

So on a side note, this will probably impact me wanting to get the R&S lab exam attempted this year (although anything is possible). I’m really trying to focus on this voice stuff right now because it’s in my best interests to do so! I’m hoping to knock out the CCVP by the end of the year so I can get my R&S stuff done. Voice is definitely extremely challenging compared to the other Cisco arena’s. I’m currently building-out a lab at home and having loads of fun with it so far!

more to come…
